This week’s random track comes in the form of the fantastic “Roll With Me”, a track taken from the 2001 P. Diddy & The Bad Boy The Family album “The Saga Continues…”. I mainly adore the track for the gorgeous production by Spike Leroy & Jamal Rasheed which is basically an expansion on Candido’s “1000 Finger Man”. However, just by subtle changes in instrumentation from the original, the track is morphed into what sounds like something from the RPG Final Fantasy 7 (check out the music in the Midgar sewers and you’ll see what I mean) and completely out of the ordinary from your usual rap beat. Although the producers were probably clueless of this comparison I’m still gonna applaud them for one of my most adored rap productions, I mean what other rap track could I quote as featuring stellar raps from Puffy and Eightball & MJG and a laid back well-delivered chorus from Faith Evans, all vocalised over an instrumental from FF7?

ha ha yeah Final Fantasy 7 is one of my favourite RPGs of all time along with Suikoden I. The music to both of these games is phenomenal! I just listened to Cosmo Canyon on YouTube to refresh myself and it brings back sooo many good memories!I dunno if I’m thinking of the right music to compare “Roll With Me” to, I listened to the Midgar sewers (after Don Corneo springs you down a trapdoor) music again after writing this (god bless YouTube) and it does sound similar but I swear there’s a track even more similar. Am I going crazy or can you imagine this in FF7? I can!I fucking love the FF7 music, I just bid for the album on eBay! For now I’m checking out YouTube! 😀

Hmm maybe I will cop the greatest hits but I’d rather buy the albums individually. I will listen to the tracks EVENTUALLY and give you my verdict dude, I just have a backlog of CDs to listen to as I buy them then listen to like one a week so it can take a while! Jaheim has this Neo-Soul sound going on and I’m a massive Neo-Soul fan so I’ll definitely make he and his Balewa-penned tracks a priority I promise!And yeah, I’m in London visiting friends ATM but The Transitions CD should have arrived at my house when I get back so I will check it out ASAP, that will definitely get total priority! If only Candice was in a band in the 90s too 😦 Well you can’t have everything I guess!The Britney album is hot shit I can’t stop rotating it! Oh and in response to Suikoden, I LOVED the second one, the 3D PS2 ones have been a bit disappointing as yet though. I've completed 4 (although it did have Ted in it which was dope) and am at the start of 5 and still need to get my PS2 chipped so I can play 3, which was only released in the US. I'll let you know when I finally complete the Suikoden saga!I NEVER got to revive Gremio 😦 because I spent ages collecting all the 108 stars on my original US copy and then when I defeated Yuber in the final "war scene" (how dope were those? Just paper, rock, scissors but it was genius!) battle before you storm Gregminster, the copy must have been scratched over the years because it just froze up! That also meant I never got to play as McDohl in the second one. 😦 (you could load your completed game file into 2 from 1)I'm part way through doing the same on my UK copy so I will let you know when I finally see Gremio revived! (that shit better be good) Of course now I will never play as McDohl in the 2nd one because it doesn't work US>UK copies. 😦 😦
